It's called get a clue and learn our immigration laws. Republicans want to keep title 42 in place. Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority. The Right is using it to once again undermine legal asylum, 8 US code 1158. It also suspends 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border. That leaves out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing. All we can do is deport, and many re-cross again with no penalty in place. That causes our apprehension numbers to be inflated and the get away numbers to be inflated....

@@idontbelieveyou6986 Remain in Mexico force legal asylum seekers who have used a port of entry to stay on the Mexican side of the border, where Immigrants are vulnerable to cartels and traffickers and other crimes. While they wait on the street for an asylum case, in many cases unable to contact council or get information about their hearing. Remain in Mexico violates 8 US code 1158 section 1225 and our treaty obligation to detain and harbor asylum seekers inside our borders. That was before the Right embraced title 42 that denies all asylum claims done legally at any point.

@takuache5162 We are and have been for decades, if you were paying attention. But that's just a waste of time just as the war on drugs has not resulted in decreasing the amount of drugs for decades. And what policies being forced by Republicans to undermine legal asylum, thus opening the border, is going to help in the effort to stop the drugs? I don't think you fixed anything you just showed your are less informed then the rest of these idiots.

@@idontbelieveyou6986 why would we need to change the laws they were working just fine until the Right stopped following them and started undermining them? Nothings wrong with the law the Right just don't like the law, and they know that it will never change through congress.

@@idontbelieveyou6986 Republicans are the ones fighting to keep title 42 in place in our courts, months after the CD says it's no longer needed. Title 42 is still in place because of republicans there is no doubt in that. To say otherwise means either your just another right wing liar or incredibly low informed of what is going on. They are doing it to stop any attempts to legally request asylum through a check point or at any point. When an asylum seeker crosses a border between check points, they still have to go through the same process. Asylum isn't just crossing the border and you get to stay. There is a process you should learn it instead of claiming it is nonexistent. Those who are not requesting asylum after crossing the border and are trying to avoid detection, guess what they are not asylum seekers. There is no deterrent while the Republicans are forcing title 42 to remain in place. "How can you believe that the laws are working?" Again tell me what laws we are supposed to use while title 42 suspends authority in those laws. Get a clue and get out of your tribalism it's making you incredibly ignorant. We had a 17 year decline in southern border crossing to the lowest point in 50 years prior to Trump and his policies. By 2019 Trumps policies doubled the number of people crossing the border, to 977000, that was a 20 year high. No call for dereliction of duty then. That is when our laws stopped working, when the Right started unilaterally undermining them for policies that were in violation of our immigration laws. 2020 Trump only saw a reduction for the first 9 months due to covid, before border crossing went back to a 20 year high in October of 2020 it has remained and growing under those failed policies and title 42.

@@idontbelieveyou6986 then you should be supporting the use of our title 8 Immigration laws like I am, instead of supporting policies to undermine those laws as you are.

@@idontbelieveyou6986 And the Right has attacked, criticizes, and stopped efforts by the DHS to battle misinformation from cartels and coyotes to immigrants about our border and immigration policies.

@@idontbelieveyou6986 Did you want to talk about Trumps child separation policy, just to add another notch in the Right-wing club of immoral policies that violated our immigration laws and removed the safety of immigrants entering the country legally.

@@idontbelieveyou6986 The Right, you mean the ones who are clueless of our laws and what is going on at the border who want to continue undermining the law. So much for you caring about the legal way.

He should have never went. There was bo reason to go. The Right were demanding it, just to complain when he got there. What immigration laws congress created that identify us not following?

@larrymiller4 And we have a process to eliminate those who do not qualify. A process that can't be used while the Right continue to obstruct and undermine laws to fit a far Right agenda.
1
@larrymiller4 You have no clue what our immigration laws are or have you bothered to read them. If you had you would know that title 42 suppresses the authority of those laws to be enforced. Please explain how the left is using laws you know nothing about to subvert and undermine? Can you? I notice how easy it is to get those Right who talk like they know something to shut up, when they have to actually answer a question about the law.
