Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority use to deter and penalize illegal border crossing. The Right is using it to undermine legal asylum under 8 US code 1158. It also suspends 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border illegally. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border. That leaves out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing and stops legal asylum, with few exceptions under title 42. Makes it difficult to enforce immigration laws when Republicans are fighting in court to undermine our legal enforcement. With title 42 suspending enforcement that means many immigrants recross multiple times causing apprehension numbers to be inflated. The current rate of multiple returns is about 40% of border crossers. We had a 17 year decline in southern border crossing to the lowest point in 50 years prior to Trump and his polices. By 2019 Trumps policies doubled the number of people crossing the southern border to 977,000 a 20 year high. He only saw a reduction for the first 9 months of 2020 due to covid, before it went back to a 20 year monthly high in October of 2020. It has remained a 20 year high and increasing ever since under Trumps failed policies and Title 42.

@tracybarhite1764 I know it is no longer in use I didn't' say it was everyone knows it just ended. My numbers are absolutely correct, and my information is irrefutable. Stop lying and acting as if you have any information that even comes close to refuting my statement. If you did you would provide it, and that would make it easier for me to prove how you are uninformed.

@tracybarhite1764 Yes Title 42 ended just this last week everyone knows. And before it ended Republicans are back to undermining the law again. You have not proven me wrong on any occasion, and you don't have the ability to debate me.

@robynolshefski2748 I'm aware of what is happening. I'm adding context to show why it's happening.

@LKH23 What depends on how fast you can google? If you think you know something say it. If you know you don't know, then don't say anything.

@tracybarhite1764 then don't waste my time telling me about it, post you claim and I'll gladly explain how my comment is irrefutable. And considering every day that title 42 is gone, there is more in more information being released that proves my comment is completely accurate, but give it your best shot. Don't waste my time with third country exceptions, that seems to be the only talking point the Right have to try and refute my claim and it does not.

@tracybarhite1764 Where did you go? I miss you!

@tracybarhite1764 l keep looking for that and never see it.

@tracybarhite1764 so can you even give me a hint as to what information you are looking and did you see my post that clearly shows everything I wrote is an irrefutable fact?
1
@tracybarhite1764 well not that nlmy comment is at all reputable and your comments don't pass YouTube standards five n e a hint. I'll figure it out.

@tracybarhite1764 That's better now I remember the conversation. I had adjusted my statement to include the fact that yes, after Biden took office there were changes made to title 42 that included allowing unaccompanied children to be processed under title 8. And that there had been allowances for some nationalities that could not be returned under title 42 and would have been placed in danger if returning to there home country. that still left many demographics and nationalities that were not being allowed the legal right to apply for asylum while title 42 was in place. The post I left here was a paste from my clipboard that was not the updated version of our previous conversation that was outdated, but still correct.

@tracybarhite1764 With title 42 gone we will be able to enforce our immigration laws to the fullest. Title 42 has no legal deterrent or penalties and is not an immigration law. It does side step those title 8 laws and why the Right wants to use it to undermine asylum, but that also removes the ability to enforce deterrents in title 8.

@tracybarhite1764 both of those are corrections due to you being the one singe person in several years to force an adjustment to that statement. More due to my laziness and no one noticing, but doesn't change the rest of my statement, that is the Right is undermining the law and title 42 was causing much of the problem that and the shear number.

@tracybarhite1764 Numbers I have from CBP website for 2022 is 45% title 42 and 55% title 8. What is surprising is the number of single adults process under title 8 in 2022, and it doesn't say under what statute. Seems like Biden ramping up efforts for the end of title 42, and then defying the court order to wait a year after the CDC and Biden rescinded title 42 in April of 2022.

@tracybarhite1764 Southern border apprehensions were just past 1.6 million in 2000. The highest in previous records and why I used it to show the decrease from what had been four years with numbers well over 1.3 million. After 2000 apprehension numbers fluctuated between 1.2 million and 900,000 but sill in decline from 2000. Numbers started to drop significantly after 2005 and by 2007 and 2008 numbers were below 800,000. Southern border crossings continued to decline with some fluctuations from year to year to the lowest point in 50 years in 2017, and did not have a significant increase until after Trumps created his immigration policies in the summer of 2018 that caused 2019 numbers to go back to 977,000. That's what 13 years high, and I rounded. It seems your argument is about the minutiae of my statement and missing the point of what I'm saying. While you say nothing of the lack of accuracy from the Right wing media and leadership on their reporting of the southern border.
