If you are pulled over for driving the speed limit and arrested and separated for a legal act, to deter other drivers from speeding. That is what Trumps zero tolerance pol8cy was doing before it was removed as it violated US law. This is about the law suits in response to those illegal policies.The Right doesn't know or understand immigration law and your media and politicians have done nothing but lie to build a narrative of how they want the law to work and not how it was written.

We had a 17 year decline in border crossings to the lowest point in 50 years before Trump and his policies. Within two years and under Trumps policies that number doubled to 977,000 crossing in 2019. Only because of covid and title 42 had those numbers declined in the first half of 2020. Those numbers started reaching 20 year highs again in October of 2020 and continued to climb under Trumps policies. Biden is following the same laws that gave us a reduction. Unfortunately it's taking longer to fix and correct Trumps failed border policies back to the reductions we had before him.

And yes remain in Mexico is a violation of US law and international treaty. It also leaves asylum seekers at the mercy of cartels and traffickers.
