  6.  @johnc.8298  The Trump administration policies were not only used to combat illegal border crossing, it also violated US law by criminalizing legal immigration. In their attempt to restrict and reduce legal immigration, they caused more immigrants to cross between check points when those check points were closed and immigrants were turned away. So his policies have only increased illegal entry. He has already been stopped by the courts for violating asylum rights. When In an left office we had the lowest apprehensions in 50 year after they were reduced over a 17 year period they have only increased with Trump. And he had covid to shrink those numbers and they are still higher. His policies are there to hate not govern.

And yes taxes will have to be increased on the wealthy to reduce the 3.3 trillion dollar deficit. It's it's not rocket science. Nothing but tax cuts is not an economic plan.

  17. Remember when Obama was in office and southern border apprehension were at the lowest in 50 years at below 400,000 for 2017. Then Trump came in and those numbers increased. Even with Covid and the end of the caravan his numbers last year were still above that.

  18.  @MaggiesNight  well depends on if your an informed voter that believes a president has to pass policy first before taking credit for an issue or if you are a low informed voter that gives a president credit or blame just because he's sitting in office. It takes time for a policy to effect an issue. A presidents budget and the federal government's fiscal year runs from 10/1-9/30 of the following year. So much of the policy and budget was set for Trumps first year, just as it is for every new President. We had a 17 year decline in southern border apprehensions. From 2007 to 2017 the number was cut in half. But as Trump the narcissist puts it "Under me immigration is at a 17 year low" , as if there was a policy he had to effect a change. Just like him bragging about his job numbers in February if his first year, or taking credit for an economy before a tax law or passing any policy.

  30. Because it's not needed and is not a cost effective way to use our resources to combat illegal immigration. There are areas that have few crossings that the cost benefit would not be worth the cost. There are areas that the use of electronic surveillance is better. Then there is the need to allocate funds to other immigration enforcement needs that not effected by wall policy. The number of people crossing today is half of what it was when Obama put in border fencing and it's still decreasing. Just look at the data and not the rhetoric.

  33. @KDB and yes a war on legal immigration. That's asylum visa and green card and vetting and paper work come later in the process. The Trump administration has tried to stop legal asylum before it gets to the verification process, that violates US law.
