@JohnDoe-qk1ub I answered that question. Use his power to do what, ignore our existing laws as Trump did when he creaed this crisis? This is an issue where congress needs to fix the problem. Biden is doing his job and following congressional law. Using executive authority is not how to handle this issue and should be a last resort if Congress fails to act. Not the first step becasue you don't care about seperations of powers or having a dictator for a president.

We have laws you might not like them but they are there and congress needs to provide funding to process them legally. It also supended our legal penalties for crosisng the border. At that same time remin in Mexico was in place. It did nothing to stop those crossing between check points it was forcing those who had used a check point to remain on the Mexican side of the border. Thus forcing those immigrats to cross between check points to avoid Trumps hard lined policies. we wnet from a country that was processing immigrants to a coutnry that stopped processig immigrants so they overwelmed the border and came in at record numbers those who were caught and sent back just crossed again. Now what executive order is going to stop that?

If they pass a creditable fear interview they are allowed to be detained in the US and can be paroled or boned until their hearing. that is current law. You call it an open border (title 8 USC 1158) and catch and release (title 8 USC 1225), becasue that is what your puppet master fed you.

When an unaccompanied minor is apprehended CBP has 72 hours to turn them over to family services who must quickly find family or a sponsor to take that child. Once that child has been turned over to that family or sponsor that ends the government’s responsibility to that child. The Government does make a 30 day check in call to those children or sponsor. The child and sponsor are not required to take or return the call. The government reported during a short period of time that a percentage of calls went unanswered. A reporter took that percentage against the total number of unaccompanied minors’ apprehensions and came up with that bogus number of children who the government lost contact with. The Right decided to change that wording from lost contact to missing children then conflated it with the story of minor children working.
