Does it look like title 42 is working?

Thank the Republican base who are too low informed to see what your party is doing.

Republicans want to keep title 42 in place. Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority. The Right is using it to once again undermine legal asylum, 8 US code 1158. It also suspends 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border. That leaves out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing. All we can do is deport, and many re-cross again with no penalty in place. That causes our apprehension numbers to be inflated and the get away numbers to be inflated....

@JohnDoe-qk1ub Republicans want to keep title 42 in place, and they are fighting in court to keep it. Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority. Republicans causing their own open border policy.

@JohnDoe-qk1ub everything you just said is why the Right wing base is so clueless of what your party is doing and the reality at the border. I'll try to explain , as I'm not too sure how, as you seem to be mis-recallng some of the rhetoric you've absorbed. Remain in Mexico was a policy that forces asylum seekers who used a port of entry to stay in Mexico. This was a violation of US code 1158 section 1225. And left asylum seekers at the hands of cartels traffickers and other crimes in towns that could not offer any support. Thus causing some to cross between checkpoints or send their children unaccompanied, as we saw the numbers of children increased. Biden claim was his administration was going to surge to the border and end remain in Mexico as the Rights agenda is to stop asylum. I have no idea where the 11 million comes from. I have no idea why he would need to go to the border to enforce laws that have been in place for 40 years. Kamala is not a border czar. The right wing media gave her that title. I clearly explained why the number are high, it didn't fit the narrative you want.

@yaotl7608 wrong we would need to Gabe a treaty with Mexico stating they can provide a safe haven for asylum seekers. We have one with Canada, but not any country south of the US. And remain in Mexico is a violation of US code 1158 section 1225.

@JoseMartinez-fb1ro what can Biden do when the only legal authority he has is to deport and there is no penalty if they cross the border again? That is because of Republicans.

@zacharyvincent2964 Dems didn't block anything immigration at the southern border was in sharp decline before Trump took over. Title 42 is the cause of the problems we have now. it takes all of 30 seconds of critical thinking to understand that fact.
