You mean that loophole in our 40 year old asylum laws that the Right call an open border policy that they spent 4 years blaming Biden for, after our immigration process imploded when Trump unilaterally undermine legal asylum with these same failed policies in 2018. And The Right forcing title 42 in place to undermine title 8 authority and penalties for border crossers under the Biden administration, who and not choice but to follow immigration laws.

  2. @mizzury54  immigrants have a legal right to cross the border at any point and request asylum without penalty and go through the process that in some cases can take years. If they pass a creditable fear interview they are to be detained in the US until their court date. Some on the Right feel that many immigrants are taking advantage of thst process and lying and then not showig up for their court date just to disappear. The Trump administration felt justified in ignoring our laws and denied asylum seekers rights under our laws and congress will not compromise to fix the law.

  3. And of course Trumps ICE officers will ignore constitutional rights of US citizens against illegal and warrantless searches while conducting these raids. Just as Trump will use policies that will unilaterally undermine immigration laws to keep legal asylum seekers out. And cause another humanitarian crisis at our borders just as he did in 2019, when border crossing reached record levels.

  4. So far all I've heard was the same failed polices that caused our borders to get worse under the Trump administration. Just follow congressional laws until congress changes the law.
