What you call an open border policy is US code 1158 it is an asylum law that has been in place for over 40 years. you are triggered by Right wing media who is causing the problem.

When he clearly created a record high in border crossings And there was a marked and highly reported decline in Trumps DOJ of prosecuting traffickers. Not to mention the fact that Trumps policies were delivering legal asylum seekers to traffickers.
