@francisscott2603 just saying it doesn't make it true. Trumps zero tolerance policy of separating children from legal asylum seekers violated US code 1158 and was reversed by a federal court. Trumps remain in Mexico policy violates the same code section 235b1b. It is Biden who is following immigration law as written. That would be the law that none of you have read, yet you all assume you know.

@francisscott2603 Yes he was and he's complying with that order. That doesn't mean the policy is legal, as no one has ruled on the legality of remain in Mexico. They only ruled that Biden didn't follow legal protocols and procedures to remove it. It's going back to SCOTUS.

And yes if some shows up at the border and claim asylum they are processed and given a creditable fear interview. If passed they are to be detained in the US. That is US law again 1158 that you have not read.

@francisscott2603 Obama did not have a separation policy that violated US law and he was not separating for violation of 1325 because it's a civil penalty. You're parroting false talking points.

@francisscott2603 I am concerned about the abuse of legal asylum seekers. That is why I don't support Trumps policies that force legal asylum seekers to wait in Mexico where traffickers and cartels have easy access to them. Try using some critical thinking in your questions.

@francisscott2603 Try reading my comment. Biden is following the courts order as I said, because he has to follow the proper procedure. It doesn't make remain in Mexico legal. This is the part where you discover you don't know anything about the law or what's going on. Nor do you care about the the law when it interferes with your hate and fear, so now you will just make up anything to defend that tribe.

@francisscott2603 And that is why we have asylum laws and vetting of asylum seekers. That way we don't have presidents taking unilateral steps to ignore existing laws to pander to a base that are fed rhetoric of fear and hate and not the law. You can't state all asylum claims are illegitimate before they reach the border to make their claim.

@josephlewis7443 That's not even close to being correct or a fact. Trump had more border crossings in his 4 years in office then Obama had in his last 4. We had a 17 year decline in southern border crossing to the lowest point in 50 years prior to Trump and his policies. Within two years Trump doubled that number to 977,000 in 2019. His only reduction came in the first 9 months of 2020 due to covid. By October of 2020 southern border crossings were back to 20 year monthly high and they have remained at a 20 year high ever since. Trumps policies were a complete failure and they violated US law and international treaty, but its not like anyone on the Right cares about the law when it doesn't fit the narrative they want.

They just seem to omit the fact that Trump was doing the EXACT same thing in May of 2019. When the Right reported that Biden was paying illegal immigrants $45000 for crossing the border illegally. They just forgot to mention that the dollar amount was never a confirmed report and it was a settlement to to save tax payers money. The reason we were being sued by immigrants is due to Trumps zero tolerance policy that violated US code 1158 and international treaty. He was separating legal asylum seekers and charging them with a crime, but the Right attacked Biden instead. The Right has repeatedly lied about the asylum process and asylum laws. T

Yes Christmas was stopping immigration, not Yes southern border crossing were at a 20 year high in October under Trump in 2020 and it's been there ever since. That was after a 20 year high in border crossings in 2019. All under Trumps policies.
