While he supports remain in mexico, that clearly violates section 1225 of US code 1158. Asylum seekers that still have a legal claim can still be granted parole or bond and released until their court hearing. The Right has lied, omitted" ignored, removed context and even criminalized legal asylum to undermine a law the Right doesn't like without changing the law through Congress .

Trumps policies were in violation of Immigration law US code 1158 and did nothing to stop “border jumpers”. We had a 17-year decline in southern border crossings to the lowest point in 50 years prior to Trump and his policies. By 2019 under Trumps policies, the number of people crossing doubled to 977,000 a 20-year high. It only went down for the first 9 months of 2020, before going back to a 20-year high in October of 2020. It has remained a 20-year high and growing ever since. The Trump policies that are causing the problem are still in place. The Right know nothing of our immigration law or what is going on. The Right is not impeaching a President that is following immigration law to the letter, just because the base is ignorant and easily manipulated. Our laws are now being enforce and it’s not a war it’s asylum. The Right wants to ignore omit and criminalize legal asylum to fit a narrative they feed their low informed base, YOU.

@jessicayoung1568 The Rights dismantling of am immigration system that was working prior to Trumps policies. Trump policies that were in violation of asylum laws. The Right doesn't like our current asylum laws that have been in place for 40 years and the treaty obligation in article 31 of the Geneva convention. They see asylum as a loophole to enter the country on false pretenses and stay illegally, and they make the assumption that all asylum claims are invalid before they are made. Our laws don't let them make that determination. Biden is following the law.

@jessicayoung1568 Crossing the border illegally for non asylum seekers false under US code 1325. It calls for a civil penalty on the first offence and stiffer penalty on return crossers who violate the border. Under tile 42 immigrants are just deported, without the process under US code 1325 and not penalized for reentry so they cross many times. That also means the numbers reported are inflated.

@jessicayoung1568 Our laws clearly state and chip even read the law in the border hearing. If they are on US soil they have a right to request asylum and go through the vetting process. If they pass a creditable fear interview they are to be detained in country. All others who do not qualify are put into deportation proceedings just as they were under Trump, with some exceptions that have changed in title 42 since Trump.

@jessicayoung1568 Biden's focus would be to determine if those immigrants caught under Trumps policies, were given legal chance to fight their deportation and second to focus on those with violent criminal records over those whose only crime is being in the country illegally.

But the phones can only be used to access the app – they can't access the internet, load other apps or make calls. And use of them dates back to the Trump administration. The phones are used as part of ICE's Alternatives to Detention program, which started in 2004 and uses technology to “ensure noncitizen compliance with release conditions, court hearings and final orders of removal,” an ICE spokesman said in a statement to USA TODAY. But the devices have had all other typical phone functions disabled, so the phones are "solely limited to the functions assigned for the purposes of participation in" the detention program, the statement said."

@jessicayoung1568 That's the point they were not given a chance in court. Biden want's to insure those caught in Trumps immigration policies that violated US code 1158, were given due process by delaying their deportation. Trumps zero tolerance policy that criminalized legal asylum seekers and separated their children in an effort to deter others from coming to the border. That violated US code 1158 and was overturned in federal court and Trump lost on appeal. It is the reason for the "$450k" settlements that were being reported and the Right was criticizing Biden for. That was a law suit by legal asylum seekers for Trumps violation of US law and international treaty. So yes Biden is making sure that our laws are trying to be followed and due process is being given in the shadow of remain in Mexico, that is also a violation of US code 1158. If Trump had not violated so many immigration statutes Biden would not need to take the time and see if that due process was given.

Trumps policies are like a Governor of Texas changing a law without going through state legislature, to pull over drivers from another state who is driving the speed limit through Texas. Then charging them with a crime and separating their children to deter other out of state drivers from speeding.

Our borders are no more open then they have ever been it's just a larger volume due to conditions in those countries. as I said title 42 inflates the numbers and returns under Trump were at 7%, but as the title ages that increases over time and is now at 40%. Open borders is a right wing term for ignoring our asylum laws and I've already said that was he Rights goal. And no one said we have to keep them, if they do not qualify then they are deported as per our laws and not by ignoring them and making that decision before they can prove their claim.
