The Right made multiple attempts to continued to force it in place though litigation, and have tried to create legislation to make it more permanent. All in an effort to undermine legal immigration. That caused out border patrol to be overwhelmed. That and the refusal from GOP in congress, to fund the DHS in a manor that is reasonable under our current laws created by congress.
