@howzit9397 That is irrelevant to the law. The Right does not get to decide that all asylum request are invalid before they reach the border and make the request. Trump doesn't have the right to depart from laws to fit the agenda of the rhetoric and false narratives of hate and fear from the Right. We have a vetting process for asylum seekers it was working before Trump. You don't get to have your guy act like a dictator and then accuse the other guy of being one, for following the law just because you are ignorant of the law.

Ted had on several occasions has asked to return to Trumps policies that Ted knows were in violation of the law. Ted is also very aware that the settlement amount was made up and not an official report. And he also knows the reason for the settlement was due to Trumps policy that violated the law. @howzit9397 if Trump had not violated US immigration law. We would not need to move them to other parts of the country for processing and deportation. But Mexico passed several laws that will not allow us to deport non Mexican nationals back into certain areas in Mexico. So they need to be transported. They are at that time tested if they test positive they are quarantined. We also transport unaccompanied minors and legal asylum seekers out of Border Patrol custody to families or family services within 72 hours by law. Just as Trump was doing and yes he was doing it at night too.

Biden would be saving tax payers money and the settlement amount reported was also not true.

@deanosborn3464 Except that in order for that to be true we would need to have a treaty with that country saying they can offer the safe haven required for asylum. We have that with Canada, but not Mexico. A Trump appointed judge already ruled the third country rule does not apply, about three years ago.

I know the specifics here so I can tell you the Right wing media is lying and has been about the border for a long time. What was the specific retraction? And lets keep in mind they wrote a retraction. Do you see the Right ever retracting any false narrative? I'm never surprised by the Rights willingness to never care about their media manipulating them or not wanting to know the full facts, but want to what aboutism to the MSM. @theanomalous1401 After he lost his appeal in court Trump released an Executive Order to stop the child separations for all family units in violation of US code 1325, even though he didn't use an executive order to create the zero tolerance policy memorandum that caused the separations.

It's like the term "open border" policy, that claim typically used by the Right just translates to the Rights ignorance of immigration law. That would mean catch and release is due to one US code 1158 section 235b1. Or the fact that the infraction of violating US code 1135 for the first offense carries a civil penalty and only requires deportation.

Unaccompanied minors have to be detained before they are turned over to family, a sponsor , or family services. This happened by all Presidents. Trump was the only one separating children from legal asylum seekers that caused overcrowding and the inability to turn children over to protective custody in the allotted time by law. That is why we are being sued, because of Trumps policy. Ted knows all of this, but is still trying to distract with the propaganda from the failure of Trumps border policies, and keep the Right ignorant of what's been happening.

The Detain centers got bigger because they needed more room for covid regulations. Biden is not under a border policy he is following federal immigration laws. Trump was violating those laws, by putting in his own policies and ignoring immigration laws. And no the border was not better under Trump, as Ted distracted away in this clip, Border crossings exploded under Trump in 2019 under his policies after a 17 year decline. 2020 was only low in the first half of the year due to covid. Trumps remain in Mexico policy that violates US law and international treaty is still the main cause for the issues we are having now. This is absolutely about Trump and his failed policies.

That caused overcrowding in detention centers making it impossible to meet a 72 hour deadline of turning them and other unaccompanied minors over to families or family services. You know flying them in at night to cities like the Right is complaining about Biden doing now. This policy of Trumps that violated asylum seekers rights. That is why we are being sued by asylum seekers that Biden is trying to settle out of court for a lower amount, and the Right is complaining about Biden, because you are all clueless on the facts as your media and leadership lies.

@glg6069 deflect when you have no argument. We had a 17 year decline in border crossings to a 50 year low, before Trump and his failed policies. Within two years he double the number of people crossing to 977,000 in 2019. It only went down for the first half of 2020 due to covid, before the number of people crossing went back to record number starting in October of 2020. That was six months prior to Biden. This is due to Trump dismantling a process that was working, and created policies that failed and violate immigration laws that we've had for 40 years.

Ted knows the apprehension rate go by the federal government fiscal year end calendar and not the actual calendar year end, but attempt to leave out the context that the apprehension rate for the past year include 4 record months under Trump before Biden took office. Ted asks about children at the border and is given a number. Ted asks about "got aways", this is a guess by estimating on the number of apprehensions. Ask how many have died under Trumps remain in Mexico policy that is in violation of US law and international treaty. Ted as always is lying to build a narrative. He is brilliant, and for someone on the Right that means he's a good liar. Biden is following US immigration law. Trumps policies violated immigration law.
