  1. Richard. I am a south african who has lived in the UK since 2001. Familial attachments etc. I have noticed from where im sitting (not as successful a businessman and indigenous brit like yourself) but just working in a busy NHS department, that the culture seems not to reward. Ever. There is never any praise for hard work and initiative. Just the opposite. Its something ive never understood. Commitment, dedication, team work, initiative is what i came here with and now im just a shell having never had anything nice said. Its sad. But you wont change it
