  12. This is assuming this war is only about Russia vs. Ukraine and that Putin wouldn't resort to something like using nuclear weapons if he sees fit. He doesn't seem particular interested in the Russian people themselves but some grandious idea of an Russian empire

  13. It wasn't just cheap gas. The EU started as a project of working together economically to prevent further military conflicts. Germany extended that to some degree to Russia with the idea Russia wouldn't get hostile when depending on Europe economically
