I don't think it's age but experience. Older people just happen to grow up in an environment where it was unlikely that 20 random strangers lied right into their face. To show it's related to experience you just have to look at the other end of the age spectrum: children. They regularly believe all sorts of things people say on the internet, they just don't have much money to get scammed out of

@Skyline_NTR for all we know they could have a prenup or it might as well be money she helped you bring into their marriage

It doesnt happen often yet too often that single channels thinks they can just start a single channel platform at a price a full streaming platform costs. Quite delusional

People also used to say that reading books corrupts one's mind when it first became widespread

Do you think that's the reason? I'd assume scammers wouldn't try to go for round numbers to look more legit, like when does a hospital bill every end up a round number?

All he did depends on his dad being rich

People who exploit the elderly usually don't "need" the money. She probably asked for 500 because she thought that was within the what she could get

@nmgg6928 yet in both cases the wrong person was targeted

@bronylexicon8485 nah, these scammers always try to get as much money as they can get. They're willing to scam people, why should they try to find another victim when they can easily get more from their current one?

@daniellamcgee4251 smart people can be scammed too, for sure. But it's much easier to filter out the most gullible, then it takes the least work to convince them. Scamming more critical people only makes sense if a scammer already knows they are worth the effort

@kingcosworth2643 it doesn't but there's plenty of people who have made impressive intellectual achievements and then think they are universally intelligent. There are some experts who are legit experts in their field who then think they can be an expert in any unrelated field. These often get picked up by news agencies for some reason

But away the AI aspect for a bit: would it been more morally correct from her if it was actual Brad Pitt?

People can't realize they're fake because then they become boring, just like with the first wave of prank videos that got increasingly more fake until people lost interest. They have to be believed or actually be real or no one will watch them

Some people make jokes about those things with friends and don't realize it'll be taken seriously when taken out on the general public

@mingiinimene3335 you don't have to be rich to have food and shelter. Just need enough money. I couldn't live with myself in a big mansion while knowing I got that far by scamming people out their last pennies

Another thing I'm thinking about is that there's probably more parents like her outside but who don't publish evidence and people don't believe the kids
