There are some experts who are legit experts in their field who then think they can be an expert in any unrelated field. These often get picked up by news agencies for some reason

  14. People can't realize they're fake because then they become boring, just like with the first wave of prank videos that got increasingly more fake until people lost interest. They have to be believed or actually be real or no one will watch them
