The one common theme about descriptions about what web 3 is that if it could be implemented successfully it would generate money for the owners. Now the problem is that no user wants to use web 3 because if the owners make money the users have to pay money all the while the current web is mostly free to use (sure often ad sponsored but if you had no money to spend you're not locked out). That's basically the same for like metaverse by Facebook, it's just so stacked against the user who all the while still has the old better types of virtual worlds available

I've always thought that web 3 is that the revolutionary new web based on the Blockchain without any details on how it actually looks like or what it's used for. Just another crypto idea searching for a problem to solve

The same reason why we have a smartphone instead of having multiple devices that do one function. I'd never go to another platform just to listen to a podcast

Wouldn't that exclude the possibility of investing in a start up/new idea due to lack of past records?

What do you not have in common

@joseguerrero2221 I'm talking about professional investors, not retail investors

@samsonsoturian6013 i don't trust any crowd funded project to be profitable because if it was why bother with so many individual investors

@jensenraylight8011 crypto makes it more expensive than it needs to be. The companies running the biggest websites are profitable without charging every user

@Limitedonathios maybe I'm wrong but i think few people who don't know any podcast yet would get on a podcast app to find one, as opposed to YouTube where people go to watch a video, often without having something specific in mind
