There's one thing many get wrong about investing: Having made the right bet doesn't mean it was a smart bet and being wrong doesn't make it a stupid bet. The lottery winner didn't invest smart, an institution isn't dumb when one investment fails if most are profitable. But many people seem to have their attention on the short terms and results and don't look if the decision were made on rational reasons

@tripplefives That's machine learning, I don't get why people call this artificial intelligence, it's no more than a more automated statistical analysis used to project new cases. Well I do get it, it's a buzzword but technically speaking there's nothing intelligent about it

That doesn't really make sense. They still can be a scam if it's easy to explain and a lot of businesses are too complicated for a sixth grader

@tripplefives but people and animals are far more adaptive (besides also being self serving and not existing to fulfill a certain requirement) while machine learning is very restricted. Babies don't misbehave and put objects in their mouth because of lack of having a better response, they put it in the mouth to learn about the shape because their other senses aren't as developed yet. Your stat bars comparison shows that you're oversimplifying humans. Just eating is so complicated that scientists still aren't sure what's healthy and unhealthy. And you also can't put emotions on a few scales. They're often talked about in simple ways but they're also so complicated that we're far from understanding what's going on
