To my understanding the cast system wasn't as severe and formal before colonialism by the British who upped it quite a lot in the divide and conquer approach. Just another case of the British causing long term conflict in another region

@irish_soldier1248 many of them hid Jews or gave out false information about Jews they knew so that they didn't get killed. Also, there was a residence that fought against the Nazi. Don't act like they just all accepted it

@McNugge. Why not mention Jews in general? I find it most concerning that some want to make it a general thing about Jews. Like it's either you're antisemitic if you criticize the Israeli government even tho they don't represent all Jews or any Jew is evil because a government that happens to be Jewish is doing something bad

@Henry-zh2ci that's not the point of the saying. It's that if everyone seeks revenge for everything, nothing worth it will remain. Like in this case, imagine the plan succeeded and millions of Germans got killed. Now the Germans would be angry because many of them weren't actually for killing jews but now a lot of them are and start killing jews in revenge. If it gets bad enough they would end up genociding each other out of existence

I kinda wonder what would have been if the government that outlawed alcohol wasn't also one in favor of a small government and police force
