  2. People in the comment section don't seem to understand that the Chinese government doesn't actually go after all rich but just the ones opposed to the CCP. Also, there's a lot of corruption China, so it's not unlikely that a lot of those donations don't end up at its supposed destination In the end the Xi section of the CCP is only trying to get back power in areas where non CCP people or opposing factions are in the play
