I'm inclined to believe thatthis is a hoax based on the facts that much if not all of this is information to learn before the attack, and in this printed long form would not be useful to read in the field, yet supposedly these fighters took that paperwork with them on the mission, expecting it to end up in israeli hands taken from their corpses. besides the style of the documents perhaps being possible to match to others to identify their origin (and identify the printer, as all colour printers for decades now have printed originally very secret individual serial numbers in the form of pale yellow dot codes to enable tracing of all prints to individual printers known to have been sold at a particular location), you also just generally don't want to inform your enemy about what you know.

  4.  @brianjones5255  to say that these are not legit papers is the default position. what reason is there to believe this? what even is the source exactly? ryan didn't bother to say. 🙄 it's obvious that hamas did not expect such success, nobody expected the IDF to fail so incredibly badly - breaching the border, sure, that wasn't really preventable. but the IDF's response time was something like 5-8 hours to begin, 2 days to reach the last kibbutzim, 3 days to secure the border. I do believe that it was largely planned as a suicide mission. particularly the paramotor deployment was pretty much a one way trip by design, the plan was to use those to get through where they couldn't on the ground, and thus land in places where they would also be unlikely to be able to drive back in stolen vehicles. and speaking of stolen vehicles: if they had known how laughable the IDF resistance was going to be, they would have prepared to know how to start up and use israeli armoured vehicles. I don't know if they gained access to any intact tanks, but I did see a hamas video from inside the IDF base that they captured, which showed at least 15 APCs along with some lighter vehicles. it probably would not have been possible to hide them in gaza unless israel's drone surveillance was also observing the sabbath, but some vehicles could have made a nice addition to the mission.

  5.  @huntergatherer7796  100% fake news is what that is. hamas governs the gaza strip. with actual state organs, taxes, and state employee salaries paid by qatar. the one major other militant group in gaza is islamic jihad, and that is much smaller, and only joined hamas' mission ad hoc after hamas had breached the border. to think that an attack of an unprecedented acale and organisational sophistication out of gaza was done by aome group other than hamas that let hamas take credit is absurd. hamas is at least five times more powerful than the second most powerful group in gaza, which is islamic jihad. the hamas members in the gaza strip genuinely are one cohesive centrally goverened groupy there has never been major infighting. the west bank is far less csntrally governed and cohesive, as the PLO/PA's collaboration with israel in jointly administering the occupation has bred immense resentment among the people, so now there are significant disparate militant groupings like the jenin brigades and the lion's den that are founded on the idea of recreating gaza's success in forcing out the israeli occupation through armed resistance to achieve some form of self-governance, and at least freedom from daily harassment and the threat of death or arrest in every location including one's home.

  6. west bank palestinian militants generally use beat-up M16 and M4 variants, often with optics, that typically have gotten into their hands out of israeli military stocks either through rampant corruption or through a covert program of deliberately arming them. the US has also supplied the palestinian authority callaboration forces with american guns in the past, nd some portion of those willchave leaked out. nowadays, there may or may not also be a lot of afghan AR-15 type rifles there. meanwhile in gaza, due to the blockade, practically every rifle is an AK-47. neither territory is going to have NATO weapons of those less common and more expensive types sold in a gun store to palestinians, those would only be available to israelis (in reality, you also hardly see settlers with anything more exotic than an AR). that video shows either a gun store for israelis or an airsoft store.
