yeah my guess is that the ERA blocks on tank wrecks that burned enough to now be covered in rust probably generally had their explosives burn off, whereas the ones where the surface of the blocks looks normal haven't.

oh, that's nice. I thought they would have to be built with some sort of primer layer. so just how insensitive are those explosives? is it more or less sensitive than ANFO? because that stuff would be very easy to recover from the armour and repurpose for IEDs, if it's practically possible to set it off...

Watcher Zero no, C4 is not detonated by electrical current and neither is any other explosive. electric blasting caps use a small amount of a particularly sensitive (primary) explosive in a slightly pressure-resistant casing to build pressure to induce detonation instead of deflagration. the ignition of the primary explosive in the blasting cap is caused by a thin metal wire of high resistance heating up past the primary explosive's ignition point due to electrical current passing through it. there is no electricity running through any explosives involved in any explosives ignition process, and certainly not for C4, which is a rather insensitive secondary explosive.
