  1. what do you mean? that russia is banning specific people from entering, that russia is banning all men they want to conscript from entering, or that russia is banning everybody from luhansk? officially, russia is open to refugees from luhansk. I've been wondering from the beginning though how long those russian passports they handed out were going to hold up. it's always seemed quite likely that it was a second class citizen sort of situation.

  2. the balkans did an absolutely terrible job developing a stable peace since the wars. the different balkan nations still live in separate fantasy worlds defined by opposition to one another. over two decades should have been enough for an effective truth and reconciliation effort and today's youth should have been taught a reliable understanding of the value of tolerance. even rwanda and south africa did it better.
