this is clickbait, it's nowhere near a complete reconstruction. they also invaded at least two cities, captured one police station in one of them, and captured a military base. I have seen the claim that this military base contained the entire army command in charge of the gaza area, and them all being killed or captured was why the tiny presence of IDF troops in the area took almost literally no action for around four hours until a random retired general named israel ziv arrived from tel aviv to accompany a retired comrade in evacuating his son, and ziv assumed command of the dispersed grunts he found barely managing to just survive. apparently, the soldiers simply received no orders, nor did they receive reinforcements from still intact military units. the much talked about intelligence failure or intelligence relay failure really is a distant second to the main problem: the incredible weakness of the permanent troop presence at and near the border. even without any warning, at a time thought to be as peaceful as it gets in palestine (and 2023 very much has not been that kind of time), the IDF response should have been so much better! the difference between how the IDF did perform and how they would have been expected to perform based on its performance in past decades is like two different armies. this was much closer to south african or uvalde police than to entebbe.
