5:48 that's a ridiculous interpretation, jake. russia has issues with its stolen fleet of airliners because almost all airliners russia uses are boeings and airbuses, and neither company has ever had a factory in russia or a friendly nation. ilyushin is a still operating russian company. they can make every part of that plane, they can build a new one just like it. the russians can maintain ilyushins better than any other country, nothing has changed about that. in fact, russia (perhaps with limited dependencies on other still mostly friendly soviet republics) used to have a self-sufficient arms industry that included all electronic parts. and russia still makes those archaic sorts of electronics because a lot of its weapons are still built with them. this is also largely true for western countries, partially because if it ain't broke don't fix it, and partially because the modernisation would be a move towards microelectronics, and those are generally more susceptible to ionisingradiation and as such should not be relied upon in case of a nuclear war (the term for equipment specifically designed for radiation toughness is "radiation-hardened"). russia relying heavily on foreign parts imports (among westeen countries especially from france) for some but not all of its new vehicle models is a post-soviet development. the Il-76 is a very common soviet plane.

3:35 I know the front cone of Rpg warheads is hollow, but still, that looks like a crazy amount of weight for drones that size to carry. I think I've only ever seen two-bladed drone rotors (generally swiveling blades), and those triple blades look extra broad. I bet that has to do with extra lift. I've heard before of rotors (on airplanes) with more blades being more efficient. the propellers with the most blades are used on very large military transport planes (and in terms of underwater propellers, they're on submarines, though there the focus is in very large part to reduce noise in order to reduce detection distance for enemy submarines and hydrophones). I know those specialised kamikaze drones are built for very short endurance, they fly straight to already apotted targets because giving them endurance would mean using bigger more expensive and more trade-restricted drones in order to carry bigger batteries. I imagine kamikaze drones basically use smaller battery cells and more of them to drawhigh current for a short time. and they may be built in auch a way that the motors overheat just as the batteries run out. in general, there probably is a maximum environmental temperature that they can be used at without frying the motors prematurely. but one might be able to devise a workaround by pre-chilling the motors with a compressed gas.

@balaclavabob001 because they're old planes and it's russia. and by the way none of theforeign airliners that russia ACTUALLY now shpuld have trouble maintaining has fallen out of the sky yet.
