I think with good regulation, including the vetting of the adoptive parents as for any other adoption, and the exclusion of exploitative for-profit surrogacy agencies, paid surrogacy should be legal. and it would probably make sense to give the birtth mother the unilateral right until the handover to withdraw from the deal and keep the child as her own... though she would then have to return the money, which would be a problem.

I'm sure that risk is still higher in france than in various other european countries, like germany, but you should have picked one of those for comparison. or, if your source only compares britain, not cite it at all because that's a BS source.

  11. armenia does have some big things going for it in terms of who's the good guy in this conflict today, including that armenia is a new democracy while azerbaijan is a moderately fascistic dictatorship, that azerbaijan and its active ally turkey are rather fond of the historic armenian genocide committed by the turks, and that the power differential hugely favouring azerbaijan makes it abundantly clear that only one side can plausibly by the current aggressor. it is however worth noting that in the 90s, when armenia, with real support from russia, was more powerful than azerbaijan (which had not yet gotten as rich from fossil fuels) committed many more war crimes than azerbaijan, and ethnically cleansed nagorno-karabakh of its azeri minority and territory surrounding nagorno-karabakh larger than nagorno-karabakh of its azeri majority (which was occupied until armenia lost the war few years ago). besides the general horribleness of those crimes against humanity, it is clear in hindsight that armenia laid the groundwork of today's azerbaijani aggression by ruthlessly overexploiting its temporary power advantage in the 90s, when they likely could have instead used the leveragethey held to create a compromise acceptable to azerbaijan. while the history of the conflixt between armenians and azeris goes back longer, practically all of the hatred of armenians held by azerbaijani people alive today stems from the real acts of savagery of armenia in the 90s. azerbaijan committed much of the same atrocities, but on a somewhat smaller scale for lack of ability, and the responsibility to deescalate and lead in establishing conditions for a just peace always lies with the more powerful side of a war (and today it lies with azerbaijan).

THIS is why ukraine should have had the polish MiGs by now. the ukrainian airforce mostly can't contest the airspace over and near the areas held by russian ground forces, but they CAN deny the russian airforce opportunities to bomb central and western ukraine far behind the front lines. the polish offer to send the jets to ramstein for the US military to hand them over to the ukrainian airforce (presumably by having the ukrainians fly them out of ramstein) is a reasonable way to share the blame between poland, germany and america. poland is already taking the biggest risk because it's their planes, and they're closest to russia and ukraine. it's not reasonable to demand that they take all the blame by also doing the handover directly without other NATO countries showing their support for the operation. ramstein is an obvious choice of location because it's both militarily and politically extremely well secured - it presumably has plenty of top of the line missile defense systems around because it's the biggest european base of the US military and both ramstein and other bases near it have nuclear missile silos, and it's politically protected by germany being a very important economic partner of russia and america being the biggest threat to russia.

  25. your guy addressing the president as "his excellency" instead of "your excellency" is kinda cringe. xD you didn't do a good job addressing the issue of wagner being paid in the form of mineral rights. the problem there is not that they are being paid, it's that they are being overpaid to an absurd degree. wagner has mining operations (mostly gold and diamonds) in the central african republic estimated to generate a billion dollars in yearly profit, and they have gained those as payment for deploying just a few hundred wagner personnel as presidential guards, military instructors, and probably strategists and intelligence support. these african leaders claim to be siding with wagner to free africa from western commercial exploitation, but the deals wagner makes are even more lopsided. they are demanding the right to take huge amounts of national resources as payment for protecting the political elite. and while they're doing that, they're free to ra** and murder, and reportedly kidnapping children to make them work in their mines.

I think this case may actually be a turning point towards more social awareness that some women are sexual predators, too. the percentage of women among child predators may be as low as 10%, but those 10% have long been able to use the societal perception that there are no female predators to gain people's trust simply by being women. that's the whole reason why maxwell worked for epstein. female sexual predators can do plenty of harm even if they don't have a penis.

  39. hospitals in european countries with typical vaccination rates around 70-80% are treating 90% unvaccinated patients, and almost all those who are vaccinated and still got sick are very old and as such got vaccinated almost a year ago. the third dose is again very effective at reducing risk to those people. there also is a small percentage of the population whose immune systems through one condition or another are so weak that vaccines produce no or very little immune response, and as such fail to result in good immunity, so that those people are still very vulnerable to covid after vaccination. if vaccines did not help, then 70+% of covid patients in hospitals would be vaccinated, instead of 10%.

  41. *groups I think it dived down there 10 or 20 times. the pressure cycles cause material fatigue, the hull is less safe than the last time each time you dive. pressurized airplanes have defined limited lifespans because of it - although with those, a carbon fiber hull actually makes sense since the internal pressure excess tensions the hull.
