seriously, I think during this whole hysteria against the possibility to oppose russia more strongly because it may escalate to nuclear war, I think people should instead be more aware of what a huge global message against nuclear disarmament it sends that ukraine has been invaded by one and abandoned by the other superpower after receiving defense guarantees from both russia and america in exchange for their nukes. this is going to set back nuclear non-proliferation efforts many decades.

Johan Olofsson german inland state media (ARD, ZDF) are much more critical of the german government than DW. DW recently put out some of the worst, most biased coverage of the german exit from nuclear power for example, presenting nothing but bad arguments in favor of it - despite it being a brazenly idiotic thing to do while keeping lignite coal power plants online until 2035 or so and being dramatically dependent on russian gas at a time when russia is waging war on europe.

ITube only the gas is russian, the coal germany burns is german.

Logicus they could have quite easily been taken apart and reassembled with some changes to the electronics.

Mountain Mama I don't know, I would imagine it's the same as always. the big bank bends the legal system to its breaking point and point out that they're too big to fail, they fire a few people in middle management and maybe one of them spends a few months in jail while the bank pays a fine that's a fraction of its criminal profits.

alainmcin the winter is as good as over in germany, and from what I hear, there has turned out to be a good amount of excess gas for potential resale from west-aligned european countries that weren't as stingy with buying gas last year as germany and the UK. we pretty much have time to arrange alternative gas sources until next fall.

alainmcin from what I've heard, we'd probably have to replace therussian gas mostly with expensive american and qatari LNG.
