  1. he is dumb enough to actually paywall reading twitter posts. that would be the definitive end of twitter. the fact that he didn't even specify whether he meant a paywall only for posting or also for reading ("use of the system") is embarrassing in itself. either he hadn't decided yet, or, and he does sound like that, he had not realised that there is an important distinction. how is trying to squeeze the existing twitter concept for quick money and driving away hordes of users supposed to be conducive to twitter developing into a universally used everything app (western wechat)? isn't musk supposed to be one of the two people most financially capable of just personally bailing twitter out of whatever money needs it may have
