so they're simultaneously pretending not to know for certain that it was an israeli soldier, and pretending to know for certain that if it was an israeli soldier, it was an excusable accident, so there's no need to investigate the soldier's actions or even to be sure that it was one of their soldiers... not the most logical reasoning I have ever heard!

Just Mr the israeli soldiers were wearing helmet cams. the IDF almost certainly has video footage that shows who shot abu akleh, and they definitely have sufficiently detailed reports of who was where at what time and shooting in which direction.

Just Mr the IDF has known the identity of the soldier since the day it happened.

@TheAlonos look it up, the IDF released a helmet cam video from one of the soldiers on that mission, and it shows others wearing helmet cams, too. the israelis just chose one recording that didn't show what happened.

@peabase but we know exactly when and where the reporter was shot, and that only a handful of shots came her way, so it would be easy to find out who shot her by seeing who shot towards her at that time.
