yeah, watching western news in 2022 pretend that this was not obvious for like two months until ukraine stopped was pretty funny.

ukraine was firing at and near the power plant for like two months in 2022, and during late summer/early fall, ukraine actually attempted according to the russians several but certainly at least one major special forces assault across the river directly against the power plant, in an apparent attempt to capture the plant to use it as their own shield for a major river-crossing bridgehead. but of course it took about half a year for any major western news to acknowledge that, and obviously that wasn't DW.

@renemagritte8237 the kakhovka dam was on the frontline, and the point of its destruction were very distributed effects. ukraine isn't shelling or drone-striking the powerplant to destroy it, they are aiming for the russian soldiers there. or at least they were in 2022.
