  3. her argument that not having a default search engine in your default browser on a new phone (though almost the same argument can be made about the default browser) would be substantially inconvenient means that she thinks it's a difficult obstacle for people to, while setting up their phone operating system or opening the browser for the first time, be confronted with a "set default search engine" window. it already exists as an option you need to actively seek out, and it's damn simple.
