  1. ok so to be clear, DW has literally no reason to report on this variant at this point in time because it's just one of hundreds if not thousands of variants that have been logged, most of which did not reach any relevance.

General Martok if the media reported on every new variant, they would be doing it multiple times a week. the fact that this variant is even mentioned by general audience media falsely suggests a certain level of relevance. this is just doing a covid story to do a covid story, as if DW didn't already do enough of those.
