I don'tknow the situation, but this sounds like the correspondent is pushing his own preference for the continuation candidate in a really slimy way throughout, presenting his own opinion as that of others or as a broad consensus.

indonesia has pretty huge and hardly recognized post-independence historic and ongoing problems of f°scism (a particularly bad incarnation of cold war 3rd world US puppet fa°°ism including the democide of up to a million leftists and certain minorities in 1965 and '66) and its own gen°°idal colonialism in east timor and west papua.

@niko-ni6ps yeah I saw some more credible info after this, and apparently this guy was the main guy in charge of both the east timor gen°°°de and the indonesian colonial occupation of west papua for a long time. I knew that indonesia has one of the most f°°°ed up largely unknown 20th and 21st century national histories. especially the 1965-66 anti-left and anti-chinese and certain other minority populations purge, part of the US cold war proxy fascism efforts, which in its widespread normalized mu°°ering was somewhat similar to the rwandan gen°°°de three decades later (death toll around 500k to 1m - no rwanda, but not too shabby for two years of). prabowo was still a teenager then, but apparently for the later chapters of atrocity, he is not merely a war criminal, he is the country's number one war criminal. he's also not a continuation candidate as presented here, he is a political opponent of the outgoing president who got himself a cabinet post by blackmail by way of inciting rioting.
