  1. eh... I'm not a fan of directly conflating statutory rape that would have been deemed consentual above the age of consent with all other degrees of sexual abuse that can be called child rape. it would have been good to mention that zimbabwe's age of consent is 16 though, and calling it statutory rape/statutorily raped would be reasonable.

  2. it's rather unreasonable to expect any state institution in a country like zimbabwe to function well, and an institution to house children who have already been sexually abused at home could itself be a huge magnet for child predators (as could putting them in foster care or an adoption program). I mean there definitely are a lot of kids who need to be removed from abusive homes, but after that a lot can still go wrong. I think sex education in schools probably has huge benefits and little chance of backfiring though.
