  5. because in many european countries, compound bows (a modern weapon, look it up) are the most powerful weapons that are easily available, at least if you want a faster rate of fire than a crossbow.

  6. although I guess if used strategically, the silence of a bow relative to gunshots could be used to avoid causing people to run or hide. but then again, plenty of normal people will hide so badly that they can quite easily be found.

  7. mefer swift of course guns don't cause violence, but they are much more effective force amplifiers than bows, as is evident in how no police or military use bows. there is very little chance he made that bow himself, and most likely it was a high quality compound bow that is more expensive than most common guns are, like $500-2000. it's unlikely that he skimped out on the thing and I think he is probably quite a bow enthusiast to have managed to kill and injure that many people with a bow.
