why are you calling it"radioactive water" if its radioactivity level meets WHO drinking water standards? technically, all waterr is radioactive. 🙄

heads up about the comment section: chinese bot comments are at least as annoying as russian ones.

@mswinds idiotic talking point! it's not made to be safe for drinking. but yeah, if it has no other contaminants of note in it (I don't know if they have removed the salt for example - it was sea water to begin with), it would probably just need to boiled, and then I would have no problem with drinking it. because there literally is no problem. in terms of radioisotope content, it IS safe to drink. and it would not need to be anywhere near that safe to be safe to release into the ocean. the concern has Z E R O basis in reality.

@Thea-gj2or there is no technical need. they're just doing everything they can to alleviate public fears. but of course it is being demonstrated that literally nothing could ever do that, since the facts are orders of magnitude away from any risk at all, and you people are freaking out regardless. you have NOTHING, literally NOTHING whatsoever to cry about. there is NO THREAT. NONE. not a little one, not a tiny one, NONE.

@Thea-gj2or why are you pretending that the fact that people disagree with you is proof that you are correct? how about you look at F A C T S instead? you know, D A T A? do you believe in R E A L I T Y? have you heard of any of these things? does any of that play a role in your life?

that doesn't mean it's the same amount of contamination, just that fukushima was the second worst. fukushima released 340–780 PBq of radiation (80% into the ocean), chernobyl released 14,000 PBq (almost all on land, much of it densely inhabited).
