I think he looks like he does drugs other than alcohol. I guess he's unusually chubby for a meth addict (it suppresses appetite), but his fidgeting would fit. it could also be that he's autistic and that's what's known as "stimming", that would also fit his avoidance of eye contact. his nervousness isn't necessarily guilt, it could just be because he's being filmed and he knows that a lot of people suspect him of murder. he's definitely being dishonest about the abuse though. the question whether they ever fought was phrased in such an open way that if he was honest, he would have said yes.

the fact that the clothes being thrown away there are not yet being burned for energy is a huge government failure. it's ideal trash for burning, and it would produce massive ecological benefits compared to leaving clothes to rot, and health benefits compared to people burning the clothes in the open with no exhaust filter. keeping the beaches free of trash could also increase the area's attractiveness to tourists. generally a lot of poor countries clearly should be building trash-fired power plants to reduce their waste problems. that would probably also be a good investment for some kind of foreign development aid or loans.

it's quite disappointing that you completely failed to address this obvious solution in this report and instead only showed those two guys repurposing tiny amounts of clothes, and asked the politician about an import ban. those have very little to do with practically solving the trash problem in ghana. they need to actually deal with the trash, and the most practical way to do that at scale is to burn it for energy. I'm sure they'll also find plenty of other trash to burn once they have a power plant for it. in much of the EU, we've stopped putting any household trash in landfills, because practically anything not worth recycling can be burned.

@lenas6246 yes, they are. among large cats, leopards are extraordinarily likely to hunt humans. they have the second largest average annual number of human kills after tigers, and individual maneater leopards recorded in modern history have the highest numbers of human kills per leopard after maneater tigers (in the hundreds). all while leopards are not just smaller than tigers, but also smaller than jaguars, lions, and on average smaller than pumas, though both pumas and especially leopards have huge regional variations in size. leopards pack most of the human-killing potential of a tiger into the size of a large dog. if you had an adult cat of any of the large species as big as a very large leopard (that would be tiny for a tiger, but otherwise probably possible), the leopard would be the most dangerous. that's one goddamn scary species.

AM Kgaka yeah I looked it up, that e-waste dump is in a place called agbogbloshie that's in ghana's capital accraö. so either a different section of the same dump, or a different dump in the same city as what's shown in the vifeo. either way the ghanaian government is very fond of importing trash and then not evrn bothering to have trash-fired power plants (which this video should have presented as the primary solution). with the e-waste, they presumably cause more poisoning, whereas the clothes on the beaches are massively detrimental to the potential for tourism, so overall just really bad governing. in my opinion they could handle the clothes if they tried properly and built some power plants, but they probably should massively reduce the amount of e-waste they import because that's really not easy to dispose of properly. it would be nice if they still imported wome select stuff though since there are people actually repairing and recycling electronics there.

I have seen a bunch of documentaries about similar things (human trafficking and rape), and the apathy and refusal to uphold laws intended to protect women and girls by police in india, bangladesh and pakistan is shocking. in a lot of places, if an underage girl is kidnapped and sold as a bride, the police will just shrug and consider her married and property of her husband. if a woman or girl is raped, they say it must have been her fault for dressing and acting immodestly, because women who behave correctly don't get raped (also she is a disgrace to her family and nobody should ever marry her).

@leticiastar30 nah, she lives where she does, and (assuming that my prior assumption is correct) if she does need to convert to islam to live better there, and she can either believe or fake belief to a satisfactory degree for the local muslim community, she should do that. broadly speaking, islam in subsaharan africa has always been less strict and usually less misogynistic than arab islam. both islam and christianity integrated a lot of local animist practices, and there have been failed attempts by incensed arab islamic clergy to get the africans to muslim properly for a thousand years. part of that effort though are today's al qaeda and daesh-affiliated murder cults like al shabab and boko haram, which she should stay away from. I haven't heard of them in kenya, but they can't be far away, they're definitely also a risk in kenya.

wolves have been reintroduced a few decades ago in cwntral europe, with a population grown into the thousands. those wolves have yet to attack one human. comparingthem to leopards is absurd, leopards are the cat species that kills thesecondlargest number ofhumans after only tigers (despite leopards being solitary and smaller than lions, jaguars, and typically even pumas). these are really remarkably aggressive predators, whereas wolves are very shy.

facebook has been able to identify people by their face for 10+ years. maybe the online ads aren't showing faces, but even if they're not, a database to recognise other body parts could be made. and if they do show faces, it should be really easy to check identifies automatically.

most christianity in africa and in many third world countries elsewhere is this delusional. what's most incredible for so many people to fall for in my opinion are prosperity gospel churches, of which there are some huge congregations (I think especially in the philippines, but also in the US). their doctrine and their preachings center around telling believers to make money donations to the church as the only true proof of their faith, and that this will be rewarded by god by making them richer in the end. they say people must donate as much as they can because that's how they express the strength of their faith, and they even advertise donating as a solution specifically for people who have no money to spare or are already in debt. their solution for a debt problem is for people to collect as much additional money in loans as they can, and donate it to the church. apparently those churches manage to silence all the people they leave behind in abject poverty somehow.
