Cecilia Andersson I know, english movies with subtitles are standard in scandinavian countries generally and I think also in the netherlands. in germany (plus austria and german speaking switzerland), we get everything dubbed, presumably because the german language movie market is pretty big, and germans also understand less english than scandinavians or dutch (I think with young people the difference is likely smaller due to internet use). I personally hate the german dubs because even with big movies, they are always significantly inferior to the original sound. the voice actors are unable to fully make the way they talk match the character of the scene most of the time, and often you can hear how the room the dub was recorded in sounds different and thus separate from the rest of the sound. I haven't watched more than two or three dubbed movies in the last 10+ years because it's way worse.
