the clamshell concept seems extraordinarily practical, seems odd that it hasn't been done more often. I suppose it's somewhat obsolete with today"s durable plastic options, and compared to plastic options, this gun with its all-steel construction including the whole grip gives cauae for concern if one considers potential extreme temperatures, but extreme heat can be reasonably excluded in many places, and for extreme cold you just need some gloves. though I suppose for this purpose, this gun would make particular sense to equip with a four-finger mitten triggerguard, or at least a folding triggerguard.
in generaly the construction concept looks extremely simple to make, and to field-strip amd clean. splitting the receiver lengwise ahould give the easiest access possible to just about anything you might need to clean or grease. and it's super intuitive to disassemble and assemble, whereas on many guns you need to move pieces in a specific order into positions whose function is not apparent on the outside like you're solving a puzzle. with rhis one, most people would probably be able to figure it out pretty easily and manage to put it back together.
