  1. apparently if one rounds up generously, the money that bannerman guy paid was equivalent to just $10 today per gun. I suppose it was probably an error of major laziness by whoever was in charge of selling the revolvers, in that they sold all almost 5000 at once, and therejust aren't very many people at any given time who will fork up the equivalent of $50,000 in today's money for an excessively large batch of not yet antique but antiquated military handguns.
