  1. well, the way it's supposed to work is that the emergency call operator asks you the right questions. but it does seem like some of those are not very good at their jobs.

  2. everyone taking first aid courses is probably not going to happen, but I think a reasonable demand would be that all parents should learn child-specific first aid. my mom works with kids and has to do I think yearly first aid training for it, that also makes a lot of sense. for parents it makes sense both to keep their own kids safe, and because they're relatively likely to be around other kids, too.
