  1. the fundamental issue with the quick acting poison concept is that the only way to make ANY injected poison, even massively overdosed poison, work quickly enough to kill or incapacitate faster than the target can react to yell or activate an alarm is to inject it precisely into a major blood vessel, preferably one that's pumping blood to the brain. there is no way to make a ranged weapon accurate enough to do this. I'd say it's hardly even possible to do by hand in hand to hand combat. you can inject poison or tranquiliser into muscles, and that's how tranquiliser darts areused on animals, but thisthen needs to slowly be leeched out of the muscle by tiny blood vessels,andwill take at least several minutes to work (normal tranquiliser darts take something like half an hour). you really can't compensate for the slow diffusion into the blood stream by just picking the most lethal poison in absurd dosage, it will never be quick enough. the next fastest option to injecting into a blood vessel would be application by inhalation. that probably has some practical application.
