  2. I use tabs, and since watching this video, I have always cut or broken off about a third of the tab and put it on the floor of the dishwasher, and used washing cycles with a pre-rinse. :)

  3.  @QTEEP  washing machines are generally the heaviest (except for large fridges perhaps?) because they have heavy weights built in to resist shaking. I think it's typically concrete blocks, as those are dense enough but cheaper than metals and are easy to shape.
