  1. I’m old enough to remember when our maps switched from the Soviet Union to Russia, Ukraine, et. al. on our maps. But I’m young enough to not remember things like when the actual collapse happened, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the breakup of the Warsaw Pact, etc. that was associated with that 1989-1991 timeline. However, the Cold War era is kind of my special interest as of late as again, I’m old enough to remember when the “godless Commies” were going to blow us all up with a nuke. But not really young enough to have practiced “duck and cover” drills. (Though instead of being called tornado drills, they were called disaster drills until like…high school in the mid-late 90s for me.) And Blitzkrieg. Tell me Vlad, how well did that work out for the Axis in WW2? Sure it obliterated London, but they still lost the war in the end. And the Saudis won’t produce more oil. But I bet the Bakken oil fields in the US & Canada would… Oh and the only Russian things I own have “Made in the USSR” on the bottom. And they’re older pieces. Like some of those stacking dolls, which I got from my late step-mom, and a postcard of Lenin in his tomb that a Russian-American friend sent me along with a kopeck from my birth year.
