  1. I have an interesting question that's weird to ask but sort of relevant. I've mentioned my great-grandmother in comments before. She came over to the US from what is modern day Ukraine, but was at the time Imperial Russia. (Pre-UPR/USSR era.) According to my father, she identified as Russian and spoke only Russian. Is that something older Ukrainian people may do/have done? She died when I was very young, so I unfortunately did not know her myself. But...I am trying to maybe understand more of that side of my family. (The German side is easy, and it's well documented... The Ukrainian/Russian side...isn't.)
