How do you adapt to 1/3-1/2 of all farm and habitable land becoming uninhabitable and incapable of producing crops? How do you adapt to collapsed aquifers? How do you adapt to ocean acidification and desertification on a massive scale? Just look at what MAGA is doing in the US. They aren't talking about annexing Canada and Greenland because they don't believe in climate change or care about the socioeconomic suicide of it all. These are the actions of people that specifically understand the issue is occurring, makes them more money the worse it gets and are looking to be positioned to exploit the most people as they struggle to survive.

@zworm2 Ice experiments... great idea. I'm a chemist and have run many in both kitchen and laboratory settings. Try this experiment in your kitchen with proper safety precautions: Take a pot, put a large rock in it that has a surface you can put ice on top of the rock. Filling it to the water to the edge of the ice on the rock. Measure the water level with a ruler. Put the entire pot on a stove and heat until the ice melts. Measure the water level again. Increased? Yes? Great. So everything you've said is therefore incorrect. In addition, you can add ANY number of "natural" variables to this experiment and simulate the thermodynamics and water levels of earth. On a lab scale this can become extremely complex and measure all sorts of rates such as temperature, humidity, salinity, heat dissipation rates and much more. Simply put, this ice melting is not what you believe it to be.

Growing where the ice retreats and extracting resources from these places is why maga is desperate for Canada and Greenland and control of cross American continental shipping. There are major issues with thinking it's a solution and not a problem. We literally wouldn't have enough to even just replace the amount of farmland we will lose in coming decades. Growing or even extracting resources in these areas as ice retreats is a band aid on a severed limb without even a tourniquet. Adaption and evolution literally aren't meaningful for 99.9% of species and humanity. We need to be thinking about bracing for impact and having our homes be far more mobile than anyone has been used to doing in at least hundreds of years. Furthermore what grows in our future and what it can do to humanity is absolutely more of a problem than you think it is. These areas and their changes specifically trigger microbiological shifts on a massive scale. Including changing phytoplankton throughout the oceans. Simply put, people don't understand what's occurring and have no idea what's about to occur. And it's far more problematic than you can imagine. Perhaps not always the disaster movie tropes... but far more devastating than you're prepared to handle. And yes, no matter who you are or where you live... these dramatic changes are coming.

Climate Engineering: code word and remarketing tool of the oil, methane plastic, tech and coal industry about the damage they're causing but somehow get people to believe is planes in the sky.

Yeah... now it's even worse... glaciologists literally didn't understand the rate of change we've measure in the past 10 years was possible.

That's exactly why the billionaires are trying to secure territory and real estate in the Arctic. It's not just resource extraction. They think a southern border will be enough to keep out billions in refugees.

Yeah... you want a giant, likely diseased or venomous chicken running through the streets eating people and everything else in sight as we try to kill them... Jurassic Park didn't turn you off to such things?

You assume: 1. People have land to grow crops. 2. People will be able to have water to grow those crops. 3. Heat won't kill those crops anywhere on earth below the 49th parallel. 4. That turning off lights does anything at all to reduce emissions (it doesn't, it would increase emissions if we all did it at once). 5. That recycling is real. It is not. The chemistry and physics to recycle anything do not exist in the long term. We are exhausting resources which will be degraded over time. And I include iron and sand used in concrete here. 6. People will be allowed to speak. And that it will do anything. People speaking to their government has been a right for less than 10% of written human history and only become widespread in the last few decades. 7. You assume trees and birds will exist in a world where severe wild fires, weather, drought, flooding, heat, humidity and human consumption will continue to eliminate plant and animal populations and species.
