I bought a '98 Yukon SLT with 220k miles. The oil wasn't changed often enough, and the oil used was probably standard conventional. I did a full tune-up and replaced the o2 sensors and a full synthetic Mobil1 oil change with a K&N High Flow Gold oil filter. During winter/cold seasons, I experienced an intermittently stuck exhaust valve. It didn’t help that I only drove it within the city and not freeway, and that series of Yukon likes to shift early [causing it to prefer "lugging"]. Anyway, I used some Lucas Pure Synthetic oil treatment and ran the motor between 2k-3k RPM for several minutes and it solved the stuck valve. It does cost ~$20, but it does work. If your rig is properly and regularly maintained, probably don't need it though. Edit [after watching the full video]: I greatly appreciate the analysis. Very informative and eye-opening. I still stand by solving a problem at the detriment of my oil life, but I knew I'd have to change it again anyway long before the recommended mileage from poor upkeep by the previous owners.
