@chocol8tsundae They could be influenced by a majority too. Or anything, like a dictatorial authority. Anything is possible. Sure. But how often does that happen compared to a central authority running rogue (like this judge who isn't answering to anyone in the moment). I get where you're coming from, but european history (which is probably the next-best system, and from which the American system was born) clearly demonstrates you're incorrect.
