She put water where the oil is supposed to go. Big no-no. It needs to be drained since water doesn't lubricate like oil and will cause oxidation [rust] of vital engine parts. Putting water in your coolant is okay if it's distilled [you can even buy concentrate coolant that requires you to mix it yourself]. Distilled is necessary because tap water or bottled water has calcium and other things that will clog the small passages that coolant is expected to run through, and may cause wear to the water pump.

@thedude7180 True. It takes considerable time and depends on the water how quickly deposits will build up. But yeah, so long as it never hits 32⁰F or below, pure water is fine. Done it many times myself as a young [poor] man lol.
