  23. wahoo wahoo I applauded these companies for sharing some of their tax windfall, but did you notice that most of these actions are one time events. Taxes, or tax savings, happen every year. Your post should have covered stock by backs, a much bigger story than the $1,000 bonuses. These stock buy backs were wonderful for my 401K but my profits are coming at the expense of future American Debt. In 2018 America’s annual deficit hit just shy of a Trillion dollars, in 2019 it will be more than a trillion. Record breaking deficits in a strong economy tell you something is grossly wrong. To simplify imagine the following old saying: Democrats love to Tax and Spend Now add a new saying going back to Reagan Republicans love to Tax Cut and Spend Bankruptcy will catch up to you quicker under the Republican model. In addition to cutting Corporate Taxes and 1% taxes, Trump closed No Loopholes. There were two old truths about American Taxes before Trump’s Tax Cut. 1. American Stated Corporate taxes are some of the highest in the Western World. 2. American Corporations pay some of the lowest Corporate taxes in the Western World. How can both of these statements be true? Tax breaks, loopholes, and creative accounting. The same is true of the 1%. Before the Trump tax break most of the 1% paid an effective tax rate of less than 10% - I wish I could do that. Bottom line Corporations and the 1% tax break = future debt for average Americans.

The negotiation took a very short time — like, maybe, about 35 seconds.” The Truth: What caught our attention is that the president claims that Saudi Arabia will pay all of the costs — “100 percent” — of the deployment, including “the cost of our soldiers.” Some critics have charged that Trump is turning U.S. troops into mercenaries, available to the highest bidder. Since the president has a long history of inflating what he has supposedly negotiated, we thought we would investigate.

Notice that Trump claims he negotiated this deal in a “very short time — like, maybe, about 35 seconds.” In previous White Houses we have covered, such a stunning act of negotiation would be accompanied by readouts by presidential aides, eager to explain how such a coup came about.

But, in this case, just crickets from the White House, except for the bragging by the president himself. White House officials would not explain what Trump meant.
So, we checked with the Pentagon for more details on the supposed payment arrangement. Officials at the Defense Department deflected our inquiry, telling us to contact the State Department.
Hmmm, experience has taught us that this is a sign that any such deal is still under negotiation. Otherwise, the Pentagon would have been happy to discuss it.
Sure enough, we ended up with a carefully crafted statement from State that certainly reinforced that impression.
The core of the statement, attributed to a State Department spokesman, said: “While we will not comment on specific bilateral defense agreements, more broadly the United States encourages burden-sharing among partners in support of shared security interests, to include defense of the Arabian Gulf.”
Notice the “encourages burden-sharing” language. That certainly sounds like an aspiration, not a negotiated outcome. And the State Department won’t comment on a “specific bilateral defense agreement” even though the president is talking about it? That doesn’t make much sense.
We checked with the relevant committees in the House and the Senate — Defense, Foreign Affairs and Appropriations — and none could report an understanding of the president’s claim. The Saudi Embassy did not respond with an explanation, either.
When NBC News reported in July that U.S. troops were being dispatched to Prince Sultan Air Base, it quoted unnamed U.S. officials as saying that “Saudi Arabia has already agreed to pay some of the costs associated with having U.S. personnel and assets there.”
“Some” is clearly much less than 100 percent.
Neither the Pentagon nor the State Department would comment on that language, each telling The Fact Checker to discuss it with the other agency.

  33. Here is radical idea for your consideration. Ask your self why do the majority of illegals come to and stay in America? The answer is that the majority can get higher paying jobs in America than in Mexico or their home countries. So if the primary attractant is jobs... then remove the jobs. Make it so illegals can’t get jobs and you have solved the majority of the problem. So how do we do that? 1. Provide all legal and temporary workers with valid hard to duplicate I.D. Just like you would a passport or a Federally Mandated State Drives License to board a plane. 2. Heavily fine and/or jail time for all employers who hire anyone with out proper Federally Recognized State I.D. or a proper Federal work permit - non of this B.S. I.D. that employers are allowed to take currently. The key is Federal or State I.D. that cannot be obtained without comply with the new Federally Mandated guidelines to get on a plane. I guarantee that if you dry up the jobs and enforce the new requirements on employers we will not need to build a wall but we will have to figure out how to fill vacant jobs the illegals filled.
