Jeff, you obviously have not read up on the debate our founding fathers had on this issue. Our founding fathers were very concerned about Popes, Cardinals, Bishops etc. exercising undue influence on our government. Why? Because English and European History was full of examples for them to look to as to the undesirability of such interference in good governance.

@sues3218 Does that make me sovereign over you? Ponder that for a moment. If my religious affiliation is dominant, do I/we get to be Sovereign over you? Your answer should be: “The Constitution doesn’t allow for that”. But you are asking to modify the interpretation of the Constitution to give what ever you certify as “Christian” a priority to everything you don’t certify as “Christian”. Christianity never needed “State” protection to thrive and spread, but when States adopted an “official” interpretation of Religion, all other religions, including the non certified “Christian’s” suffered.
